Bug Description
Changes:
* debian/control: Drop dependency on libspring-
removed from Ubuntu.
* debian/rules: Prevent the build of SPRING jars since libspring-
been removed from build-deps.

Thanks for reporting and for the patch.
Looking at the publishing history for this package I found that the next version, 1.1.7.dfsg-10, mentions dependencies were switched from Spring 2.5 to Spring 3.0. That looks and sounds like an alternative fix for the same issue. Since that built successfully and older releases who may have been affected have reached End Of Life, I've taken the liberty of marking this issue as resolved.
