Bug Description

Ubuntu Version: Edgy Beta
Desktop Environment: Gnome with Enlightenment(E17)

sudo apt-get autoremove
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
  libecore1-x libecore1-con libecore1-ipc libecore1-job liblualib50 libecore1-txt libecore1-fb hwdb-client liblua50 libecore1-dbus

When I removed them, I was not able to get e17 running. These libraries, I believe are necessary for getting e17 to work. So, I am not sure whether this is apt-get problem or with e17. But, I get this error. Just wanted to report anyway, if it helps.

P.S.: Also deborphan returns:
libecore1-dbus
libglitz-glx1
libecore1-ipc
libecal1.2-3
libttf-dev
libebook1.2-5
libecore1-fb
liblualib50
libecore1-desktop
libgnucrypto-java
libxine1
libparted1.6-13
libecore1-x
libpisock++0c2

Thanks for your bugreport.

I was not able to find e17 in the archive, could you please let me know where to get it/what package name it has so that I can debug this issue. I currently suspect that e17 does not declare proper dependencies on those libraries, but I would like to double check.

Cheers,
 Michael

Add it to sources.list
deb http://edevelop.org/ubuntu edgy e17
deb-src http://edevelop.org/ubuntu edgy e17

apt-get update && apt-get upgrade/dist-upgrade.
Install the necessary e17 packages/modules.
[apt-cache search e17* should give you the package names
or check
https://vogelweith.homeftp.net/Linux/e17_en.php for libraries/application name
].

http://www3.get-e.org/ has more documentation too.

Thanks,
Karthik

More than 4 years old, and not a bug: packages seem to be missing dependency information
