Attempting to display keyboard layout from keyboard applet causes it to crash

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

Clicked on keyboard applet and selected option to show the current keyboard layout. This fails, the keyboard applet disappears from the panel and the whole panel changes to a different style.

Found on Ubuntu 10.10 beta.
