Thanks for your bug report. Are you using any extensions to your browser? I can't reproduce your problem on my Edgy install, flash sites are working just fine.

Firefox extensions:
Adblock Filter.G Updates
Adblock Plus
Chatzilla
CustomizeGoogle
DownThemAll
Firebug
firefix
fireftp
ForcastFox
Gmail Manager
GooglePreview
Image Zoom
PDF Download
Stumble Upon
VideoDownloader
+ Others disabled due to version conflicts with Bon Echo 2.0b2

Things I've Tried:
installed flash-mozilla package
I've downloaded all the updates for Edgy
reinstalled flash-nonfree package

I'm using Kubuntu on a Toshiba Satellite 2450 Laptop, with the standard
nvidia driver package if that is an issue

The package you should have installed is 'flashplugin-nonfree'. Please make sure it's there.

I also suggest trying to open the websites you've mentioned in the Safe Mode with all extensions disabled. You can open the browser in Safe Mode it by starting it with:
 firefox -safe-mode

Thanks in advance!

This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.

To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line

backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I seem to be running into the same problem. Firefox crashes whenever I visit any site using flash. I'm currently using the latest versions of firefox and flashplugin-nonfree in the Edgy repo. I tried to run in safe mode, then visit a flash-using website, and this is the result:

This has been a problem with me as well. I have my resolution set to 16bpp so that my video card has enough memory for a dual-head setup. I've heard that the flash plugin requires 24bpp at least to work, or it causes a crash.

The same thing happens in Galeon, incidently, but not in Epiphany. The current beta of Flash9 doesn't help matters either.

Changing my color-depth to 24-bit seems to stop Firefox from crashing as well.

If you use the GPL Flash packages you can view pages that use older versions of flash, and other sites will tell you to update your flash. It's not a fix, but it makes it better. You still get a lot of random crashes, but that could be due to other issues.

I can confirm that 16 bit color-depth crashes Firefox (for me this happens silently and reproducibly). Changing back to 24 bit solves this issue.

I started with a clean install of Edgy and loaded flash and NVidia drivers. FF kept crashing when I want to pages with flash, but I changed to 24 but color-depth and it solved the problem for me also.

It seems that the bug occurs if you have both composite and 16 bit depth enabled in the xorg.conf.

To fix this bug, you can hide composite visuals from Firefox by setting the environment variable read by xlib:

export XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 ; firefox

At least the fix works for me.
