When the laptop is on AC power, the battery indicator is not hidden, regardless of the general settting "only show icon when charging or discharging".
Besides, the status reported is "Laptop battery (estimating...)".

Looks like the same issue as reported in bug #629258, but it's not a duplicate, as the hardware is different. I'll mention this bug there, please report the battery indicator always showing up in a separate bug and change this bug's description accordingly.
