Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

As a workaround delete "wine" package first. This problem is caused by "wine" package from ppa.

So, very slow on fixing this properly (and maybe a moot point now), but recent uploads of the wine1.2 package do indeed conflict/replace properly. The most important one is waiting acceptance into lucid-proposed as a stable release upgrade.

Accepted wine1.2 into lucid-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!
