Bug Description

fonttools-eexecop 2.3-1, Ubuntu Software Center 2.1.18, Ubuntu Maverick

1. In Ubuntu Software Center, choose "View" > "All Software", then navigate to "Get Software" > "Fonts".

What you see: The second item is "python extension to speed up fonttools" (fonttools-eexecop).
What you should see: fonttools-eexecop shouldn't be in the "Fonts" department at all.

This is because fonttools-eexecop has "Section: universe/fonts" -- unlike fonttools, which has "Section: universe/text".
<http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/indices/override.maverick.universe>

fonttools-eexecop should have "Section: universe/text" as well.

I think this seems to be a problem further down the stack than s-c.
- the source code for fonttools seems to define that the section is fonts for both pkgs
- the deb files of the two pkgs both have "Section: fonts"
- https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/amd64/fonttools gives section is text for fonttools
- https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/amd64/fonttools-eexecop gives section is fonts for fonttools-eexecop
- "apt-cache show fonttools" gives "...Section: universe/text..."
- "apt-cache show fonttools-eexecop" gives "...Section: universe/fonts..."

I'll fix this in Debian when Debian squeeze is released. You can help it arrive sooner by fixing some RC bugs:

Paul, it wouldn't actually make any difference whether it was fixed in Debian anyway, as (just as in Debian) the Section field is set by archive administrators (or ftpmasters in Debian terms) using overrides. Package uploads don't directly affect it.

I've overridden the section of fonttools-eexecop to text.
