Judging by the duplicate report (bug 67918) and its backtrace (http://librarian.launchpad.net/4938120/_usr_lib_gamin_gam_server.1012.crash) this is not necessarily NFS related.

Well, as far as testing this goes, it's not really worth it to me to spend the time wrangling with getting CVS to compile; I've simply stopped trying to umount my share. ;) If a package and/or patch were made available, on Edgy or Feisty or whichever, I'd be happy to test.

This is a work machine, so it has to be usable - as long as the patch didn't break my system (beta of edgy didn't, so I'm not expecting this to), I'd also be willing to test. I'll switch my personal machine to edgy when I get a chance, and then I can test it on that, even if it's an alpha patch.

I'll be running Feisty on a separate partition; I could test such a package, for what it's worth.

Thanks Andrew for the offer. It will take a while until the foundation for Feisty is rolled out.
