Hi toby, Thanks for taking the time to report this as a bug and help us make Ubuntu better.

On reading your DpkgTerminalLog.gz, it would appear that you are trying to install the 'dotdeb' version of mysql-dfsg-5.1.

This is not an officially supported Ubuntu released package. I would suggest approaching the people who created it. I believe dotdeb.org is oriented toward Debian packages, and so may not integrate well with Ubuntu releases.

If you want v5.1.49 on Lucid, you may want to submit a backport request for it, if it is not already in backports that is.
