Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
UBUNTU 10.10 updated to 11 a.m. EDT today.
When booting, gdm fails to start because the titled file is absent. You are dropped into command line.
Would it be useful to copy the file from my existing version of 10.04.1 LTS and retry?
I did check the directory, and the file is absent on 10.10
On 10.04.1 LTS, I examined the file and find nothing that should impede the boot if it were copied, however, I don't want to interfere with any fixes you may generate and am willing to leave things as they are.
My machine is dual booted, and one of my hard disks is devoted to the test bed.
I am glad I was able to copy the GUID for this bug correctly, but it would be nice if you could devise a way of short-cutting entering this in the browser command line. It wrapped around on my screen, and I wasn't sure I got all of it.

I forgot to mention, but it should be obvious, that I had to report this from my production version of the O/S. Some of the data collected for this report may well be for the wrong version.
