Note: apt-get doesn't give me an error, but still doesn't install the extension packages (just the community-extensions meta package)

Actually this is not a bug.
The new uploaded version in maverick's repo are just recently publiced.
The version 1.7.4-1ubuntu1 of banshee-community-extensions will soon be there.

The 32-bit architecture versions are still waiting to be accepted and publiced.

Of coarse you may also download the necessary packages directly from there and install them with dpkg.
