Yes, happens everytime.

Simply shut down and reboot. The partition is unreadable without a fsck. In my case, I have a multi-boot machine, and I usually let OS X take care of the fsck.

So I can reboot OS X without any problem, but if I boot Linux it leaves the disk in a bad state.

Hi guys,
I'm facing a similar issue but I don't do the same workaround. I own a USB HDD formated with HFS+. My use case is typically to copy some files on the disks which is normally plug in my tv set top box.

The test case:
- mount the HDD on a mac
- copy some files -> it works
- unmount it
- mount it in Ubuntu
- use sudo to copy some files -> it works
- unmount it
- mount it again in Ubuntu
- use sudo to copy some files -> KO, the partition is still read only

Workaround: mount/unmount it again on a mac and then back to Ubuntu and it works.
