Bug Description

Binary package hint: smplayer

Bacuse all major distributions now have PulseAudio by default (even Kubuntu will have PulseAudio after Maverick release) it's will be nice, and also solve few mplayer<->alsa bugs, if SMPlayer detect installed PulseAudio and use it's by default.
Here is example of bug what present if we use ALSA output, and not reproducible if we use PulseAudio output: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mplayer/+bug/611809
