Plugging a known mic does not select it automatically

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

On Lucid

1) Plug a mic
2) Select it in the "input" tab of the ubuntu Sound Preferences -> you can see it is recognized (the bars move)
3) Unplug the mic
4) Plug it again

RESULT : the mic is not selected automatically, you need to manually select it again in the Sound Preferences

EXPECTED RESULT : the mix is selected automatically

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)
