Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Battery indicator, when on battery displays only "laptop battery, estimating...", when i click on "laptop battery, estimating...", the statistics screen displays next to "technology" : "unknown technology".
My computer : hp pavilion dv2 1020-ef
Battery : hewlett-packard li4402a
Ubuntu maverick beta (but i had the same "problem" under lucid)
I hope i was precise enough.

I have the Pavilion dv4 and i face the same issue. I had it working under Lucid, but now it just says "estimating.."

I shall add more details later.

I also have the same problem, and for me it was was working on Lucid 64 bit Ubuntu Desktop edition. It stopped working with the 64 bit Maverick beta.

Using a Compaq Presario CQ60-215DX laptop, no virtualized, just dual-booting with Windows 7.
I did not do a clean install of Maverick, just a dist-upgrade from Lucid.
