Bug Description
Ubuntu Software Center 2.1.15, update-manager 1:0.142.13, aptdaemon 0.31+bzr476-
Ubuntu Software Center 3.0.8, Ubuntu 10.10
1. In Ubuntu Software Center, begin installing something that is going to take a while.
2. In Update Manager, choose "Install Updates".
3. In Ubuntu Software Center, switch to "In Progress".
What you see: The last item in "In Progress" reads "Applying changes".
What you should see: The last item in "In Progress" reads "Installing updates".

This is because update-manager actually performs an commit operation, not an upgrade one, to allow selection of individual packages to be upgraded. However, I don't know if software-center would handle this even if update-manager was fixed, so leaving both tasks open.
