Fehlermeldung: Visual C++ Runtime Library / This application.... - beim Befehl "Differenz"

Beim Befehl Differenz bekomme ich die Meldung: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library /
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information

Habe von einer komplexen Vectorgrafik (Schloss) versucht mittels einem Rechteck und dem Befehl Differez einen Teil zu entfernen. Dabei kam die Fehlermeldung.
Mittlerweile kann ich die Datei gar nicht mehr öffnen - kommt ständig diese Meldung.

- after that inkscape no longer opens the SVG file (same error message)

The 12MB file opens in Inkscape 0.48 and 0.48+devel r9743 on Mac OS X 10.5.8, but takes two and a half minutes until the initial view is rendered and Inkscape is responsive again. During this time the whole OS is extremely slowed down (MBP, 2.4 GHz Intel C2D, 2GB RAM).

The file itself is not corrupt - the crash seems to be caused by platform-dependent performance/memory issues, most likely due to few, but huge paths with thousands of nodes.

The 'Division' command with the rectangle had not been successfully executed: on the visible layer, there are two big paths and the rectangle, partially overlapping the huge path on the right.

The 'Difference' command also took about 2.5 minutes to finish - without crash (0.48+devel r9743 on OS X 10.5.8).

The console messages Inkscape outputs when it crashes could provide further details about the underlying cause of the crash. Could you please try to trap the exit messages with Inkscapec.exe, as described at <http://kaioa.com/node/63>?

On windows vista 64 bit Inkscape 0.48.4 needs 23 seconds to open the file and needs roughly 510 MB ram. This seems fairly reasonable to me. Can anyone confirm the situation has improved since the orininal 0.48 release?
