Bug Description

My laptop backlight is often extremely bright, as I like it and as it should be. However, after waking the computer up after being Suspended, the light is extremely dim, regardless of whether it is plugged in or not. Furthermore, I have the brightness turned all the way up in the System Preferences.

Ubuntu version is the latest version, 10.04 lucid. Kernel is Linux 2.6.32-24-generic. Gnome version is 2.30.2. Computer is an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC (with the 17'' screen that is extremely difficult to find laptop cases for). Memory is 2.7 GB, Processor is AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-70. Graphics card is ATi. Backlight does NOT have an ambient light sensor.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.
