Bug Description

Ubuntu 10.04 using Canon Pixma iP4200, unable to print, bad pattern. Printer worked using Ubuntu 9.04 and works using Windows. This is a shared printer but I get the same message when I don't share it. If I delete and recreate the printer, it works for a while. Also it will magically start working again after a day or two, although rebooting now does not fix the problem. I ran a debug report but it's quite large, not sure where to attach that.

The problem was another computer was printing to this printer. Even though I deleted and recreated the printer, same issue occurred. Resolution was to recreate another printer with a different name. I had to disable firestarter on the remote computer to allow it to print to the shared printer. Even though I enabled everyone for lpp 631 on host and remote computer, firestarter still needs to be disabled on remote to print to host.

First, it is possible that firestarter causes the problem, not correctly opening up the IPP connection to the printer. For this you should report a bug on firestarter.

Second, simply feel free to attach any kind of debug log information to this bug report, even if the files are very large. We have plenty of disk space. Please do not compress the files which you attach.
