Bug Description
I just tried the recently released Edgy beta live CD. After being happy with some tyre-kicking, I clicked the power button icon at the top right of my screen. I then selected "reboot". X got shut down after a while, and I ended up with a blank screen in text mode, with a blinking underline cursor in the top left of the screen.
After staring at that screen for half a minute I started flipping through the virtual consoles.
Six of them were there. I couldn't type in any of them.
My system (default boot, not the Edgy live cd) is:
johan@transwarp:~$ uname -a
Linux transwarp 2.6.15-27-686 #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Sep 16 02:13:27 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux
Don't know what else you need to know. What's the kernel version number on the Edgy CD?
Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'linux-image'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.
