Ctrl F9 does not bring up sidepane

I assume Crtl-F9 is a toggle...but the sidepane never appears. Maybe my system ??

there's no CTRL+F9 option in eog, if you're looking the collections that's F9. not a bug.

In my EOG, run from the Gnome menu,after I open a jpg, ctrl-F9 (open side pane) is not grayed out, as though it should work, that's the reason I filed this bug. If it's not supposed to work, I think it should be grayed out.
