Bug Description
Binary package hint: empathy
I've installed maverick beta yesterday.
One among many of the changes i've found that the chat window in empathy shows chat date also.
But implementation on this feature has led to an ambiguity. The time is neither displayed in 24 hour system nor it has AM/PM time stamp. It becomes impossible to distinguish between day and night messages
One more thing I would like to say is that in the lucid, the new message was displayed as notification but in maverick the icon becomes green but notification is not displayed. I don't know whether it is implemented purposefully or it is a bug.
Please pay attention to this also
My time zone is IST. If you require further debugging info. please contact me.

Thanks for your bug report and helping to make Ubuntu better. I can see the AM/PM timestamps on my empathy. Could you please provide screenshots of the issue?
