Huawei 1556 not recognized not able to open internet brower but able to download from Software Center

Machine is not recognizing Huawei 1556 mobile broadband. It was added on the Network manager but not able to connect to internet. not able to navegate using Mozila or any other browser
However it is able to download some files from Software Center. Ubuntu 10.4
