[MAVERICK] brightness (function/hotkey) key does not work.

Bug Description

Fn+F6/F7 controls the brightness of the screen, but this key combination does not work. Similarly, Fn+F8,F9 wifi and mouse control also does not work.

Hi Manoj,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Brightness adjustment was fixed in the kernel 2.6.36.

Here there is the packages ready to install in Maverick: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.36-maverick/

Looks like the referenced patch is currently present in both maverick and natty. Testing against natty confirms that the brightness hotkeys do work.
