Bug Description
Binary package hint: nautilus
Currently, clicking on an archive opens file-roller. To extract an archive, one needs to right-click and select ›Extract Here‹.
As the major use case for archives (mostly downloads) is extracting them rather than modifying files in them, this should be switched:
Double-clicking (or clicking in single-click mode) should extract the archive (like on Mac OS).
The right-click option for ›Extract Here‹ should be changed into something like ›Edit Contents‹, which would then launch file-roller.
To post a comment you must log in.
Doing this might be surprising to the user if they're casually clicking or intending to open file-roller. Just my opinion. :P
