Bug Description

Binary package hint: cameramonitor

Installed cameramonitor 0.2-2.1 on 10.04 Lucid.

Running it from Applications-Sound&Video seems to do nothing.

Running it from the command line reports:

/usr/bin/cameramonitor:76: DeprecationWarning: os.popen3 is deprecated. Use the subprocess module.
  text = os.popen3('fuser '+self.video_device, 'r')[1].read()

nothing appears on the screen, in the system tray, on the menu bar, or in the notification area.
Have tried with different webcams.

The original author has stated on other bug reports on launchpad that he has no time to work on it any more and cannot update it to work with newer APIs. Should this even be included in the repositories at this point?
