Bug Description
When the directory is not writable, a requested conversion claims to be done in the main window, but nothing is written. The cause of the problem is only written to stderr, which is hidden if the app is launched by gui:
Cannot set permission on '/home/
In general, maybe errors need to go to the user through dialog boxes.
