Bug Description

Binary package hint: evince

For any cbz file on one partition (/home) thumbnails work in nautilus and files open normally, but for the same file on an other partition (/media/Donnees) thumbnails fail and when opening file with evince, there is this error showing : "The document contains only empty pages" and none pages are shown. (But the number of pages is correct in the top bar.)

There's two main differences between the two partitions: the first one is in ext4 and on a SATA HDD and the other one in ext3 and on a PATA (IDE) HDD.

Useful (?) lines in /etc/fstab :
UUID=da3dd994-94dd-4c4a-aa91-67d8cf5faae3 /home ext4 defaults 0 2
UUID=9d19ae70-d084-40b2-b232-004ca63cb873 /media/Donnees ext3 defaults 0 2

DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Package: evince 2.30.3-0ubuntu1.1 0
Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-24-generic
Architecture: AMD64

This problem occurs with any cbz I have (and I have a lot).
With this example document given in another bug report too.

After some test I did find the source of the problem. It's just happen when the path to the file contain the character "[" (but curiously it works with "]", and of course all my cbz on my second disk were in folders with a "["…).

I did not find other characters bringing this error.

So, even after all this time, is it possible to fix or at least confirm this ?
