Bug Description
On Maverick I find my machine appears to have an ~30 second pause in its boot process; I'm fairly sure this didn't happen on Lucid.
Looking at dmesg (which I've included) I see:
[ 4.697921] Slow work thread pool: Starting up
[ 4.698021] Slow work thread pool: Ready
[ 4.698026] [drm] Initialized radeon 2.5.0 20080528 for 0000:07:00.0 on minor
0
[ 33.697268] EXT4-fs (sda1): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. Opts:
(null)
[ 35.779145] Adding 2000088k swap on /dev/sda2. Priority:-1 extents:1 across:
2000088k
So I'm wondering if it's either something Radeon related or something disk IO related.
Radeon is an HD4350 running the open driver
Disc is a 1TB SATA ST31000528AS on in built Intel controller.
Other storage is a SATA DVD-RW drive (TSSTcorp Model: CDDVDW SH-S223C) and
a 16GB Kingston USB key.
I've also included a bootchart.

I am also seeing long pauses on boot-up of Maverick (and Lucid was doing it too, before the upgrade), and I use the escape key to continue, however the number of times I press the escape key varies distinctly from 1 to 6 times, so this is probably a race condition. There is usually a dmesg entry right before (or very nearly before) the pause like:
[ 8.085519] udev[446]: starting version 163
