Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

If Launchpad doesn't Oops I'll write a useful description.

My touchpad does not have buttons for right and left click but areas sectioned off for it. In Lucid the right click area would initiate a right-click but this is no longer the case since I have upgraded to Maverick.

Issuing the following command restores functionality on my HP ProBook 4320s Synaptics Touchpad. I had most functions working in Lucid, however in Maverick only left-click and tap works.

    # echo options psmouse proto=exps > /etc/modprobe.d/psmouse.modprobe

Now right-click works, dragging also works fine (didnt work in Maverick - windows were just jumping around since the driver couldn't correctly detect two fingers on the touchpad).

Edge-scrolling however, stopped working after applying the above command.

The above command disables the certain touchpad options such as scrolling. For now I've been using the pen whenever I need to right click so hopefully a fix will be found soon.

As a workaround I enabled the accessibility option so that "holding down" the left button turns into a right click.
