Bug Description
Binary package hint: software-center
The new add-ons list shown for packages is awesome, although its current design may lead to some confused users.
Installing an add-on feels different from installing a package normally. Normally, you can click the Install button and the package immediately begins installing. With add-ons, a checkbox seems to take that button's place. Elsewhere in Gnome, things involving checkboxes apply right away; it's really hard to find something with an explicit Apply button.
I can see why that design is how it is (I'm not complaining about it; I like it!). However, because of that design, someone may not expect there to _be_ a button that installs the selected add-ons. Instead, a user might select some add-ons and then go do something else.
The current situation is especially problematic with a big list of add-ons like that belonging to Firefox. Perhaps something can be done to draw the user's attention to that Apply button…
This is certainly something we should look into.
