Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
I can't reproduce this bug, pasting in a cell does overwrite the content not append to it or insert it in the middle. To paste text into the text of cell, you have to double click to edit the cell and then the paste should be at the position of your cursor. How exactly did you do the copy&paste?

Hello Marcel,

For some reason, I didn't receive (or overlooked...) your message...
I realized that when I received the bug expiration notification.

I still have that problem. I'm very surprised that no one else does....

In case it helps, and if we can reopen this bug, here's what I do to reproduce it:

- Copy selected content from a cell
- Paste it in the middle of another cell's existing content
- Paste appears OK in the content line (under the menu)

When I hit enter; the cell content changes and the pasted content ends up in the middle of the original content...

Maybe it's better to wait if this bug appears in LibreOffice and reopen it there :-) ?

Please let me know

Regards,

Bernard

Hi Bard,
I still can't reproduce your bug, but your instructions are not 100% clear to me:

Do you mean: Select the cell and copy or double-click the cell and copy the content?

- Paste it in the middle of another cell's existing content
How do you do this? By double clicking the cell and setting the cursor in the middle of the content?

> When I hit enter; the cell content changes and the pasted content ends up in the middle of the original content...
But your instructions above said you "Paste it in the middle" -- so where would you expect the content to end up?

Maybe taking a screencast of the bug happening would make things easier for us :-) (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ScreenCasts/RecordMyDesktop)

Hi Marcel,

Let me look into that and get back to you.
Of course, it wouls be easier for all of us to have a screencast.

I'll let you know as soon as I try.

In the meantime, here is a little more information on what happened to me:

- Copy selected content from a cell

I select part of the text from a cell from the input line

- Paste it in the middle of another cell's existing content

My mistake here.
I put the cursor where I want to insert content (usually at the end of
the existing content - I append the the new content to the existing one)
in the input line again.
When I press enter, part of the pasted content goes in the middle of the
old existing content and not after it.

Hope this helps more.

Regards,

Bernard
