Thanks for the report, can you recreate this with a new user created on your system? what kind of files are those? svgs, jpg, bmp, etc? are those located in your filesystem or in a remote one?

Yes, with a new user profile the same thing happens. It seems to be reduced to around 10-15 seconds now.

I think you misunderstood, it's not about certain files, it's just when I open any new Nautilus window, i.e. the "Home Folder", Desktop, ..., Computer shortcuts on the Places menu or any shortcut (not bookmarks) of a folder I made myself. Once Nautilus is started, it's OK, but even then, when I open another Nautilus window, even one with the same location, it still takes more then 10 seconds before it shows anything.
So I can go to Places, Downloads, wait 15 seconds until Nautilus has started up completely, again go to Places, Downloads and again will have to wait 15 seconds.

For clarity, this is not the same machine as my other Nautilus bug report.

I can reproduce this after installing appmenu-gtk and indicator-appmenu on a fresh daily install, so it's likely a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/appmenu-gtk/+bug/604668
