Bug Description

maverick alpha3 netbook edition downloaded an hour ago was started from usb stick on netbook.

when looking at firefox in its full screen mode and then closing the last tab by CTRL-W shuts down firefox, but does not restore the desktop - only the background picture is shown, nothing else. hitting return, esc or such does not help (ctrl-alt-del, followed by cancel brings the screen back)

uname -a:
Linux ubuntu 2.6.35-14-generic #19-Ubuntu SMP Mon Aug 2 01:43:35 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Judging from your description, I am going to assign this bug to the “firefox” package in hopes that it will have a faster response. If you believe that I have chosen the wrong package, please change your bug to the correct one. Good luck on getting it fixed!

I believe this has nothing to do with firefox, and a lot with gnome. or
whatever is responsible for drawing the desktop
