Bug Description

Binary package hint: dpkg

on maverick, each time i've tried to install a package (for example: clamtk, iptables, and others too) with gdebi, the process start as usual but at the beginning of installation when the dialog box open, dpkg complaint that it cant read descriptor flags: "bad descriptor file flag"

so i suppose its about "dpkg" and not about "gdebi" but im not sure at all.

if i install from a console the same packages, dpkg dont complaint (dpkg -i), so this issue might be against gdebi . Some other users have reported same troubles on ubuntuforums and have confirm that installations work from terminal

The same for me, amd64.
"dpkg -i package.deb" and "sudo gdebi package.deb" work fine, gdebi-gtk not

about #4 above: bad news, ive tried to use gdebi again to install a new deb (clamtk from sourceforge), and dpkg still cant read flags, so its not fixed.
