Ear Candy does not respect tray_visible="False"

Bug Description
When I uncheck "Tray Icon visible" in the preferences dialog the icon disappears for a while, and then eventually comes back. I haven't found any pattern to its reappearance. The Ear Candy settings file found in .config still says tray_visible=

I've found the tray icon stays hidden until Ear Candy next restarts.
