Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

Using the latest Opera 10.70 snapshot [0], I'm experiencing the following:

1.) Maximize Opera -> I only see "Desktop" in the top panel.
2.) Clicking somewhere in the window -> window buttons and the generic "File Edit" menu show up in the top panel.
3.) Unmaximize Opera -> the (now unmaximized) window becomes inactive and I again just see "Desktop".
4.) Focusing the Opera window will restore the application name and generic menu in the top panel.

unity: 0.2.28-0ubuntu1
mutter:2.31.5-0ubuntu3.1
clutter 1.2.12-0ubuntu5

Can you please try to reproduce this issue with the current stable release?

There's a slight change, but I'm still getting it with 0.2.36-0ubuntu1:

1.) Maximizing Opera -> top panel becomes empty after showing the window buttons and "File Edit" for a split second.
2.) Clicking somewhere in the window -> window buttons and the generic "File Edit" menu show up in the top panel.
3.) Unmaximizing Opera -> the (now unmaximized) window becomes inactive and the top panel again becomes empty after showing "Opera File Edit" for a split second.
4.) Focusing the Opera window will restore the application name and generic menu in the top panel.

Err, maybe you meant the latest stable release of Opera? Anyway, getting the same with Opera 10.62 build 6438.

I'm moving this to latest Unity as it's something we should bear in mind to test with the new panel code (when the window button implementation lands)

Opera 11 and latest Unity: the window border stays (so buttons and title are doubled).

Sorry, that seems to be a different bug (also happens with other applications).

This has worked ever since the switch to Unity/Compiz.
