Bug Description

I am having an odd problem since I upgraded from karmic to lucid. When using any of the TTY's, the characters "^@" randomly get thrown into what I am typing, including passwords. To log into a terminal, it often takes me 4-5 attempts before I can log into because these extra characters are being thrown in... I investigated this with showkey-s and got some odd results...The problem does NOT occur under X, only in TTY.. and also, it is not the keyboard, I reinstalled karmic and it works fine... upgraded to lucid again and same problem.

OUTPUT FROM 'showkey -s'
(I pressed the '3' key 5 times. Similar results with any other key. Always 0xe0 0x79)
Using Microsoft Wireless MultiMedia Keyboard 1.0A
