Rationale: mtdev is a build dependency of grail, the gesture engine to be shipped with Maverick UNE.
Security: no security issue known right now
Quality assurance: canonical utouch team is upstream and strongly committed to the package.
UI standards: no UI.
Dependencies: all in main.
Standards compliance: follows FHS guidelines and debian guidelines.
Maintenance: Canonical utouch team will provide maintenance.
Description: Multitouch Protocol Translation Library - shared library
 libmtdev is a library for translating evdev multitouch events using the
 legacy protocol to the new multitouch slots protocol. This is necessary for
 kernel drivers that have not been updated to use the newer protocol.

This bug should have been filed against the Ubuntu packaged version of mtdev. I'm invalidating this bug and creating a new one in the correct location.
