Bug Description

when you put sticky notes on the desktop but click on the desktop or any object on the desktop, they dissapear. then you forgot about the notes (and the reminders you put in them......)

Expected behavior:
sticky notes should be hidden only when clicked on sticky-notes applet or when the applet is told to do so via its menu

I think you are wrong, the online help says -

"To hide all your notes, either click on the desktop, or right-click the Sticky Notes applet and choose Hide Notes."

I think this action is logical and how I like it to work !

I agree with Andy. It worked according to the documentation on Feisty, but on Gutsy they don't hide anymore when clicking on the Desktop.

I think that there should be an option to not have them hide when clicking on the desktop. I have never liked this behavior. I'm using Gutsy and they do hide when clicking on the desktop. Someone on the Ubuntu forums said enabling desktop effects reverts it back to its hiding on desktop click, you might want to try that Felipe. I think a good compromise would be to let the user choose if he/she wants them to hide.

You are correct, Dante, it still works as advertised. I get the expected behaviour after clearing gnome/gconf config dot-files and reconfiguring from scratch.

I agree it's a desirable wishlist, even though I like it the way it is. Hope upstream gets it done by the next gnome release.

In my own testing, this bug appears fixed in Gutsy. Am I missing something?

I'm reopening this bug because own testing and a new duplicate indicate that this issue isn't solved yet.
