Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Firefox was installed on a fresh kubuntu 10.04 by using the firefox-installer.
If you try to use an apt-link (e.g. apt://rekonq) firefox claims that the protocol is not connected to a program (i have to translate it, so the exact English error message could be slightly different).

You can connect firefox to apturl by adding a boolean in "about:config"
network.protocol-handler.expose.apt
+
now if you use an apt-link firefox asks for the program-name:
/usr/bin/apturl

This should be working out of the box. Cause Konqueror is no alternative to firefox. Especially not for users without technical understanding.

I am using Kubuntu 10.10 and it does not work.

When I click an apt-link I get "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (apt) isn't associated with any program".

I tried the following values in about:config without any result:
network.protocol-handler.app.apt with /usr/bin/apturl as value,
network.protocol-handler.app.apt+http with /usr/bin/apturl as value,
network.protocol-handler.warn-external.apt with true as value,
network.protocol-handler.warn-external.apt+http with true as value.

and as H.i.M suggested
network.protocol-handler.expose.apt with true as value.

I also tried /usr/bin/apturl-kde instead of /usr/bin/apturl as I have that package installed, but of course it didn't help.
