Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

When using Fn+F5/Fn+F6 volume up/down keys on my netbook, gnome-settings-daemon does an X keyboard grab which it doesn't give up.

Before figuring out which process it was with the grab, my only recourse (when not on a network with another machine I have a account on) has been to force a power-off.

(The netbook, btw, is a ZaReason Terra HD, which shipped with 10.04.)

I think i experienced this bug too. My workaround was to go into Assistive Technologies program and turn off the 'Slow Keys' feature which had apparently been activated by the function and volume key combo.

thank you for your bug report, is that still an issue in recent versions?
