thanks for the bug report. please open a terminal and type following and see if that helps

$ sudo apt-get clean ;sudo apt-get update ;sudo apt-get upgrade

A quick look at the logs reveals that there is many broken packages in your system. Did you install any package that could have weird dependencies to the point of breaking apt?
Anyway, this is not an empathy issue.
