I actually had some relevant info, but in a different bug, 625996:

In Maverick, we have 0.96.1 of clamav in the archive. This is just one rev out from upstream (0.96.2).

Versions older than 0.94 however are being "obsoleted" for support for signature updates and support. Hence, I am suggesting this should become a sru issue for any supported distros we have clamav older than 95 that are still supported:

On 15 April 2010 all ClamAV installations older than 0.95 will be disabled. See http://www.clamav.net/eol-clamav-094/ for more details.

This does not effect lucid, which is based on 0.96.1 also.

We do update clamav, but only after testing. Currently clamav 0.96.1 is available in karmic-backports for 9.10. We will, once it's ready, also provide 0.96.2.

So I think this bug can be closed/fix released when this is updated.
