When running off a USB stick, ubuntu loads very quickly. But once I installed it on my netbook, it seems to take 5 to 10 mins to boot. Any reasons why this is happening? The problem seems to have appeared right after I downloaded the 200+ updates a few days ago.
dmesg indicates the problem as:

fsck finds no problems with the partitions
