Bug Description
As of the latest maverick package updates, running gnome-power-
1. this program should not run as my computer is not a laptop and doesn't have variable backlight setting
2. it requires elevated privileges, meaning non-admin users may no longer be able to use this

Probably related to #616405 or even a duplicate; on my notebook, this window normally pops open upon login.
