synaptic cannot be started after apturl has run

Bug Description

Binary package hint: apturl

install a program using apt: via apturl.
No notification is given that this has completed although the program is correctly installed.
Synaptic gives an error about another active instance.
apturl process must be manually ended

Thanks for reporting this! I am unable to reproduce this on 10.10 Alpha3, but will try to find someone to reproduce this in 10.04 or in a VM.

This definitely didn't used to happen. Do you know if there's been an update to apturl since Lucid release?
Come to think of it, I was playing around with the Compiz focus behaviour recently, so maybe that has something to do with it. I'll have a play.
