Bug Description

Hello,
I installed openshot a while back and so far its the best out there for what i need, the only issue I have is that when i would preview or render video, there would be white artifacts around high contrast areas, looking into this in your bug reports I find that the issue is with melt, so I went over to melt and asked what I would need to do to resolve this, they emailed me back to request an update. the current version of openshot uses version 0.5.4 and the current version is 0.5.6 and that an update to openshot is needed to use the latest version of melt. is this possible or is there a workaround to getting the current version of openshot to run the current version of melt? (noob warning here, i have switched to ubuntu three days ago, so this is all new to me.)

okay I have upgraded melt to 0.5.5, but now i get this error message when run openshot in the terminal
Process no longer exists: 5598. Creating new pid lock file.
A new frmMain has been created
No formats or codecs were found. Please check the OpenShot preferences and configure the 'melt' command name.

any help to get this up and running is greatly appreciated, openshot is amazing, i just dont want those pesky artifacts in the video, if those are gone, its flawless hi-def

I have found the fix, http://www.openshotvideo.com/2008/04/download.html has a link to an installation wizard: http://launchpad.net/openshot/1.1/1.1.3/+download/openshot-1.1.3.tar.gz
this installs openshot with the most updated version of melt. after uninstalling and installing everything with this, I no longer get artifacts in the video rendering.

Hi,
You should use the deb or the PPA or the version in the official repositori of ubuntu. Normaly, the wizard version will be remove quickly. (i was believing that was done ).
But if it is working for you, i 'm happy.
