Bug Description

Binary package hint: indicator-application

After upgrading today via Update Manager the battery icon has disappeared. I tried a reboot and it didn't help. The functionality is still there if I click on the area where the icon should be (see attached screen shot). Thanks.

I have the same problem too but i have found that if you kill the gnome-power-manager process and start it again you get the icon!!

Before this update i am sure the battery icon was taken from the icon theme that you are using now when i restart the process to get the icon it uses a generic one that doesnt change when you change the icon theme.

I decided to start the process in a terminal for debuging puposes and this is what i get. Hope this helps :)

... but after a reboot you still need to kill and restart
gnome-power-manager? Maybe something in the startup order?

I tried out killing and starting g-p-m on impulse; for me it doesn't change the icon (placeholder every time).

Just updated and the problem seems to have gone away. Don't see any evidence of anyone working on this bug so hopefully it is fixed rather than intermittent. Currently running:
