After installing the kernel restart was required. Upon restart new kernel was not available in the boot list. Upon login received crash report indicator.

I am using Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala amd64 bit.

Kernel upgrade happened from 2.6.31-22-generic to 2.6.31-22.61.

This upgrade came through update manager.

Please do let me know if any more logs / info is required.
